FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL NÓMADA 2026
Festival Internacional Nómada is opening an international call from August 15, 2025, to September 30, 2025, for artists residing outside El Salvador in the network of street festivals and unconventional spaces in the genres of dance, physical theater, contemporary circus, and performance art to celebrate the tenth edition of the festival in El Salvador.

This call is open to proposals from artists, companies, projects, groups, and collectives working in physical theater, dance, contemporary circus, and performance, with priority given to those that promote themes and styles related to citizenship, territory, and identity. It should be noted that this is a street festival, and the pieces or acts submitted must be specific to or adaptable to urban sites and unconventional spaces.

Pieces, shows, works, or acts with dramaturgies that address the themes and styles mentioned before, are accepted, provided that the main tool for creation is human movement. Those selected must commit to complying with the guidelines stipulated by the organizing team of the tenth edition of the Festival Internacional Nómada.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CALL FOR PROPOSALS.
  1. To generate a flow of international interdisciplinary artists to promote artistic and cultural exchange.

  1. Select and disseminate in-person artistic projects and master classes with innovative tools for creation in accordance with the provisions of the current rules.

  1. Program artistic projects that seek to educate new audiences and provide territorial access.

  1. Diversify the content of Festival Internacional Nómada program in El Salvador, from inclusive and diverse perspectives.

CATEGORIES: DANCE/MOVEMENT – PHYSICAL THEATER – CONTEMPORARY CIRCUS PERFORMANCE
Theater, performance, contemporary and urban dance, interdisciplinary performing arts productions, productions for family audiences, and contemporary circus arts.

  1. Artists may submit more than one performing arts proposal, which must have a maximum of four people involved in the piece (including technical staff, if required by the piece).
  2. The proposal to be submitted must have a duration of between 20 and 30 minutes maximum. Each proposal must include a video of the work in rehearsals or performances with an audience. In addition, projects must have been released no more than two years ago.

*Artists may propose and submit appropriate documentation if they wish to give a workshop within the Festival Nómada El Salvador 2026.

The selection of participants will be carried out by artists invited and by part of the organizing team (a group of professional artists, producers, and managers in different areas and styles of the arts in general).
The groups agree to attend and collaborate in promoting the event through interviews on radio, television, and in the press, as required by the agenda. Each artist is responsible for promoting their piece in the unconventional spaces provided by the festival.

The festival reserves the right to issue direct invitations.
FESTIVAL NÓMADA OFFERS:

  1. Accommodation and meals during the festival to be held in March 2026.
  2. Internal transportation.
  3. A technical team to support and enhance the development of each show.
  4. Visibility at other festivals in the region.
  5. Access to the international workshops offered by the festival.
  6. Support with immigration issues and funding requests in their respective countries.
  7. Nómada offers artistic fees, however, it is a platform that exists thanks to institutional partners who join each year.
 
Those selected will be notified via email, and the formal invitation process will begin in October 2025.
